Borago officinalis

Annual herb we grow for its star-shaped blue flowers.  The blooms face downwards and the effect is sort of a blue haze surrounding the plant rather than a solid mass of blue colour.

Self-seeds, you likely only ever need to plant it one spring, it will return year after year. Stems are covered in hairy bristles, not pleasent to touch.

We grow this in full sun and partial shade.

Big plants, grows to a height 36 inches, and spread of about 30 inches.

Glen's score:  6 of 10.
