Milium effusum 'Aureum'

Bright yellow in spring...

...turns greenish yellow as summer progresses.

A colourful little grass for the shade garden. Foliage is bright yellow in spring, and turns greenish gold in summer.

Likes cool, moist conditions. Grows about 10" tall for us.

Easy from seed, and will self seed a bit in our garden. Central clump will die out after a couple of years - need to remove the dead material and replace with new seedlings, so does require a bit of work every year seemingly.

Hardy zone 5.

Glen's score:  7.
