Ratibida columnifera- photos and description

Saskatchewan's Wildflowers

Erect perennial, branching growth habit near the plant base, plant often a clump of many stems. Easily identifiable by its columnar disk extending from the golden yellow ray florets. A rare form of the plant has brownish-red ray florets.

Leaves to 10 cm in length, pinnately divided into segments 3 to 7 mm in width.

Commonly found on dry prairie. Begins flowering in mid July.

A mature plant with many flowering stems can be very showy in a garden.

Height to 70 cm, spread to 60 cm.
