Primula amoena

Rose-purple flowers with a yellow eye. Flowers in one sided umbels

Flowers late May. We grow them in a shady spot in our rock garden.

Note that Hardy Herbaceous Perennials by Jelitto and Schacht say this about the plant "P. vulgaris var. sibthorpii is often mistakenly mislabeled as this species". I'm not sure where I bought these plants, perhaps they've been mislabeled by the vendor.

Hardy zone 4 or 5.

Glen's score:  8.
