Agastache rupestris

(Right photo) plant just beginning to bloom.

Three plants we managed to overwinter, have grown quite large in our rock garden in late August

Colourful tubular blooms in colours of pink and orange.

We're growing them in full sun in our rock garden. Puts on a very good display of flowers its first year from seed.

Foliage is very aromatic... I can't decide if it smells like licorice, or root beer, it's interesting whichever it is.

Hardy to zone 5, tender perennial, overwinters if we have lots of snow and relatively warm temps.  Easy from seed, this is such a cool plant I'm happy to grow it as annual if need be.

Height is 12" to 16", spread of about 10".

Glen's score:  8.
