Large reddish-pink, daisy-like flowers. This variety's petals stick straight out for a time when the blooms first open, and later the petals hang down as in older varieties of this plant.
Improved variety of Echinacea purpurea, won the Perennial Plant Association's 1998 Perennial Plant of the Year award.
I do like this newer variety more than older ones. Relatively easy to grow from seed.
Good-sized, bushy plants. In our garden they've grown up to
40" in height, spread of 18" per plant.
Rated to hardy zone 3.
Glen's score: 8.
