Erodium trifolium

One plant growing in a crowded garden border, many flowers its first year from seed

Plant forms a small clump with many two-toned blooms per plant. Flowers for many weeks. Blooms close at night and on cloudy days, so best to grow this in full sun.

As its botanical name suggests, leaves are composed of 3 segments, similar to a clover. Leaves are hairy, and have scalloped edges.

Erodiums are members of the Geranium family.

Don't know much about this plant, grew it from seed in spring 2000, unsure if we'll be able to overwinter it. Blooms very well its first year from seed.

Plant has been easy to grow, would look good in my rock garden, plan to grow some more in spring 2001 spring to plant there.

Hardy zone ?.

Grows up to 8 inches tall, spread of 12 inches.

Glen's score:  8.
