Eryngium planum

Quite nice when in bloom, many steel-blue blooms per plant.  When I look at this plant when flowering, appears to be a cloud of blue floating in the garden.

Flowers mid to late summer.  Heavy self-seeder, don't let this go to seed - in the fall cut off and throw out all of this plant's seed heads. Self-seeding was such a pain (the seedlings put down deep, nasty roots) I eventually removed these plants from our garden.

Grows about 36" high, we grow it in full sun.

Hardy zone 2.

Glen's score:  6.
