Large, reddish-pink flower panicles are displayed in late July in our zone 3 garden. Usually described as a plant for moist soils/sites. Perhaps that's so if you grow it in full sun, we grow it in a shady site where it grows well in normal garden soil - no moister really than most spots in our shade garden.
A bushy plant, needs lots of room. Spreads to the point of invasiveness.
Nice when in bloom, but I'm not overjoyed with its sprawling growth habit.
In bottom left photo if you look closely you can see we're using it along with a Coreopsis to hide an electrical box in one corner of our yard.
Hardy zone 3.
Height 4-5 feet, will spread to form a large patch 5+ feet wide if you let it.
Glen's score: 6.
