A very showy perennial for a sunny garden border. Dark green foliage with purple colouring is a wonderful contrast to its many small, white flowers. Looks nice when planted in a group of several plants.
We grow it in full sun. Blooms early July.
I have read on different garden discussion groups on the Internet
that some folks don't like this plant, I can't understand it -
it looks good, blooms a long time, is easy to grow. Only
problem I have with the plant is that many of its stems require
staking when in full bloom.
1996 Perennial Plant of the Year award winner from the Perennial
Plant Association.
Hardy to Zone 4.
Grows 24" to 30" in height for us, and have grown into bushy plants, many stems per plant, spread of about 30".
Glen's score: 8.
