Perovskia atriplicifolia

Unique looking plant. Foliage is greenish-gray until early to mid-summer when the stems produce delicate purple flowers along their entire length. The variety shown in the photos is likely Perovskia atriplicifolia 'Blue Spire'.

Foliage is very aromatic. It's fun to have this planted somewhere you can brush against it when you walk by.

1995 Perennial Plant of the Year award winner from the Perennial Plant Association.

Hardy zone 5.

Height is 36" to 48", bushy plants, which by summer's end have a spread of almost 36".

Glen's score:  9.

Note: yellow blooming perennial in top photo is Solidago x hybrida 'Crown of Rays'.
