Don't know the name of this variety of Primula veris, but I quite like it. Begins blooming in late May here in zone 3, has small maroon coloured flowers with yellow stars in the centre of each flower.  

The plant in the photo above had formed a large clump for us.

Like our other Primula, we grow it in full shade, with humus rich soil.  

Hardy to at least zone 3.

Grows about 10" in height, spread 12".
