Sanguinaria canadensis

Spring flowering woodlander, for rich, moist soil. White flowers in May, reddish stems. Plant goes dormant in summer. Leaves initially envelop the flower, in a rather attractive manner.

Blooms in late May here in zone 3.

Height or 10 cm, will spread to form a good sized patch.

Hardy zone 3.
