  Summer Haiku

In the breast pocket
of last year's ragged scarecrow
four blue robin eggs.

  *

Swish of sudden hail -
moon wake shivering
on the beaten lake.

  *

The pond goldfish
swim through clouds, moon
and the stars.

  *

Giant redwoods
sift sunlight onto our car,
a bee flashes by.

  *

Blue delphiniums,
green-gold hummingbird beating
phosphorescent wings.

  *

Wilting flowers,
relentless sun
on carved head stone.
