NEWS RELEASE For Immediate Release
October 26, 1997
"Wiring your cockpit just got a whole lot easier!" A new product for home cockpit builders promises to make wiring a snap. CSI Cockpit Simulations announces the release of the EMDA Wiring Interface -- a breakout circuit board which plugs directly into the EPIC card's ribbon cable, providing easy solder points for wiring in switches and lights. Until now, wiring switches to an EPIC card meant splitting apart a 40-wire ribbon cable and connecting a rainbow of cockpit wiring to terminal strips. The EMDA Wiring Interface makes the job easy -- and instantly modular. EMDA stands for EPIC Modular Distribution Architecture. As the name implies, each Wiring Interface card operates in a modular fashion. For simple cockpits, plug one card into the ribbon cable. For a more complex cockpit, make your cockpit panels modular, and plug several cards into the ribbon cable. For example, COMM, NAV, autopilot and overhead panels could each have their own EMDA Wiring Interface card. If you need to work on one particular panel, simply unplug it from the ribbon cable, and take the whole panel -- EMDA card and all -- back to the work bench. And because the wiring runs are short, it's easy to track down problems. Each EMDA Wiring Interface card provides access to all 32 module rows, four sets of eight databits (with space for soldering diodes right on the card, keeping wiring neat), along with all 32 lights available on the EPIC lighting module. All that is required is a soldering iron and your cockpit-building imagination! In stock and
